| I have been a credentialed Emergency Medical Technician since 1996 and I have worked as an EMT at the last 10 East Coast Wahine Championships. I have been bodyboarding since 1989. I began surfing as a longboarder in 1989 when I lived in Merritt Island, Florida. Longboarding ended for me when I saw the cover shot of Mike Stewart on the now defunct "Bodyboarding" magazine. Mike Stewart, pro bodyboarder, was getting a sick air at Pipeline. I was astounded! I knew then that I had to get into bodyboarding. The thought of getting big air and spending more time in the green room beckoned me and I haven't stopped bodyboarding since. I have taken eight trips to the Guanacaste Region of Costa Rica. I have surfed many rocky reef breaks in Costa Rica, been barreled at Witches Rock, Ollie's Point, and Playa Negra just to name a few. I plan to take a trip next year to the Osa Peninsula in southern Costa Rica. I want to ride the second longest left breaking wave in the world. I wouldn't mind seeing more wildlife either, that is if I can stay out of the water long enough. |
