Join Carolina Surf Adventures for a surf/ eco adventure in Costa Rica's
Peninsula De Nicoya region July 4-July18. This is not a surf
camp, however, you are welcome to try your hand at surfing on this trip.
There are many places to rent boards in the area. We will be doing
many other exciting activities like visiting Rincon de la Vieja which is a
national park named after an active volcano. Enjoy a hot mudbath while
there, a refreshing jump into one of several waterfalls, hiking, and a
really fun canopy tour. This is an area off the beaten path so it is quite
uncrowded.
A guided boat tour through the estuary in Tamarindo is another fun
activity. Try to find the 13 foot caiman that lies in wait for unsuspecting
meals such as birds, otters, and other caiman.
Of course we will visit the many tide pools on the beaches we will be
hanging out at. They are full of tropical fish, sea hares, urchins, snails,
crabs, and the list goes on.
For the experienced surfers/bodyboarders, we will hit Playa Negra,
Playa Grande, Playa Avellanes, and hire a boat to Witches Rock and
Ollie's Point. An experienced surfer is someone who has the ability to
control their board, paddle out, catch a wave, ride down the line, and be
able to turn/cutback. One must also know how to read waves and
understand surf etiquette. It also helps if you know how to pull into the
barrel! These spots are full of them! Several of the breaks are very
rocky too.
The cost of this trip is $2
000 and includes airfare from Charlotte,
lodging, park fees, and transportation while in Costa Rica. Please
inquire now if you are interested in this trip. We encourage you to
purchase travel insurance. We do not offer refunds, however, any money
paid may be applied to a future trip with Carolina Surf Adventures.
